Anyone going to Carson-Newman clinic in March?

I may be going to see Mike Turner in Boston next weekend.

Im obviously talking about the CN clinic in March of 2006.

John, there's a website where somebody took notes from last year's clinic. I know that Mike Turner will be in Baltimore for the Glazier clinic in February. He is a great guy! If I find the notes, I would forward them to you.

Take good notes. If Carson-Newman gives you ANYTHING about their veer, keep it, photocopy it, and I'll give you money to send it here. We'll talk about it leading up to the clinic.

Sounds like you are doing a great job with your interview book. When you are applying for a job do you just send them your resume and then take your portfolio in if you get an interview??

Instead of using one large packet, I have my interview packet bound into several packets and I mail them along with the cover and resume. I have found that the packet can be something that gets you the interview. I will send one copy that has everything, arounf 275 pages. I then take a 25 page smaller manual to everyone who I interview with and have an outline in front of me. The last 2 interviews I had I was able to answer every question and refer the committee to where I had addressed that in writing.

Answer, and say "you can see where I addressed that on page 20 in the information I gave you and see more detail in the packet I sent to the AD."

Asking for the packets back, is a very good idea, .

I agee about the personal questions and I also take my wife to interviews with me. She gives awesome insight after we leave and shows the committee that it is a family apporach.

and then a standard teaching portfolio, auto biography

Many guys will say there is no need, but I like to blow them away.

I am not looking for a job, but I am in the process of putting all o my info on power point and will send it next time with everything else along with an edited highligth tape of mt team.

One final note, I took my wife on 2 interviews 2 years ago and was offered both jobs!

If you find a cheap way to make your interview packets please let us know.

I print mine myself on the color inkjet and then take them to staples and put the clear plastic cover (1$), the honeycomb binding (1$), back cover (1$) and I thinkk they charge another 14 for the assembly. Roughly 4-5$ a piece.

I also put the schools logo or mascot on the cover of everything.

I have thought about buying one of the binding machines my self, would be nice for playbooks and other handbooks and would help the next time I look. You might wnat to look into that, I just checked and they are not that bad. See if this link works.

Is the point method used only in splitbacks or will it work in I also? I have read about it on veersite.com and it makes it sound like the speed of the backs and the angle in splitbacks is what makes the point method work.
