We break down film and find tendencies and personnel groups. I am trying to find a better system for us on friday nights.

we used the digital scout system. it has it's benefits, but is pretty time intensive if you have one man doing it. learning to use the reports took about a season, too...since we didn't have anyone to ask or teach us.

i'm be very interested to see how others do it, too.

we use excel. Just a generic sheet we came up with. What I struggle with is finding meaningful tendances that I can call a Defense from. 1 team we face will have 35 to 45 different formations. If you count motion, offset backs strong and weak, empty sets and dbl tight. It's hard to send pressure when your def. is constantly adjusting to formations and coverages. We look for Down and Distance, area of the field, wide, short and personnel groupings. We have looked into the digital scout and like what it can do. Our first concern is to work out a system to use these tendancies. If anyone has any ideas let me know.
