Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
When running the down play, how are most of you blocking this front? I have a 3 technique and a 7 technique. There are LB's stacked on the guard and at 3x3 outside the TE. It is getting more difficult for us to G-scheme this look.
Have you ever done this? We found it meshes well with the classic midline scheme.
We have brought our wingback in short motion deep. We then arc our TE to the force player. The tackle blocks down on the 3 technique. The guard pulls and kicks out the 7 technique. The wingback leads through on the ILB.
We always block that defensive front by outside releasing the TE to block the OLB & XB with the T & G on the DT & 7 tech DE. We will either bring the wing undeneath on the snap from his wing position or bring him in "M" motion (sort of like you were saying), back to his dive back position & on the snap, have him go inside for the LB.
