I know that we see alot of DE's that don't come upfield too hard. I think that this would work well especially if you freeze him early with a couple of QB reads.

I personally would hesitate to have this as a read play especially if the QB pulls it. You would have to drill it into the FB's head that if the QB pulls then there is a distinct possibility that he is going to follow you so you have to block if you don't get the ball. I would be more inclined to use this as a call from the box if we see the DE sit or feather, JMO. I was looking at this a little more in depth today. We were looking at the FB maybe attacking the inside leg of the PST and bulldozing anything that happens to attack the outside part of the B gap up through the hole to the next level with inside out leverage. Almost like Coach Campbell's parting the sea theory. I don't know. Also I think that this could be a good play with Jet or Rocket motion coming from playside to the backside to draw the DE out more in anticipation of the reach putting him in an assignment conflict (still out of gun). What do you think?

I see what you are seeing on the keep read now, that makes sense. I agree about running it away from jet. The backside end would definately have his work cut out for him. It seems whatever choice he makes, he's wrong. We might just have to try that. Thanks for the idea. We might just have to call this 13 and 14 Tog
