Aiming point for Single Back in Zone Read?

Was wondering what your general scheme is when deciding to pull or not pull the BS OT??

Are you pulling the tackle around primarily to clear out the playside OG-OT gap backer and essentially try to cram that gap if at all possible (i LIKE it) and what is the OT's aiming point (is he prinicipally trying to get into that B gap)?

Do you not pull the tackle when you are looking for more of a cutback?

We pull the bsot every time unless we see a 4/9 5/9 on the backside.
If we see that we would have a 4 and a pslb playside most likely because we have removed the olb/de with trips to that side and the psol can just zone up to their man, so there is no need to pull anyone.
If we formation them to get the 4/9 5/9 playside on the zone t then the psol just blcok out on it and we pull the bsot around for the pslb.

For the pull, the bsot, drop playside foot, crossover and stay SQUARE, head into the first hole past the center. we tell them to be a rb find the hole and then find someone to run over (we don't really tell them to get the pslb because that makes them a little robotic in case other things happen. Kinda like what we tell our guards on the gt kickout, destroy the c gap area with your head on the upfield side of whatever you destroy)
This way of pulling the bsot works well for us as it allows them to open up and kickout a linebacker that has attacked hard, and it lets them head up square into the hole with some power to run over the linebacker that might have been a little hesitant because of the other things we do with misdirection and the passing game (what we want, we want to have our big ol with a head of steam like a giant fb running iso on the hopefully smaller linebacker)


We also have our qb or back read the ps guard area cloudy to clear and then pick up the tackle.
The back stays square and can hit just about anywhere. That is why we like it. There are holes all over the place.

On the Zone we have our RB aim at the Inside hip of the PST. Then he reads from there. Same read for the "Dart" Play with te BST pulling. That way we keep it simple for our backs.

We dont have Riggins Tiger. We make sure we account blocking as many of them as we can. That is how our zone-t works.

Now, if you have a Riggins to trade me, I will trade you a 4'11" 240 guard that can't do a squat or run. Fair?

By all means, don't cut him! Tamales are the best when they are made right!!! I spent 11 years in California coaching, and the kids mom's who sent me tamales, enchiladas, guacomole, chile verde, etc. were all starters immediately, even if they couldn't play a lick!!!
