Questions for Coach Campbell and Coach Lansdel

Tiger One You and Coach Mountjoy are amasing individuals I do hope our paths cross someday what a football conversation we could have. Both you coaches are very much appreciated by Lyle and I and your willingness to share your experience and ideas. This is such a great sport and profession we have decided to dedicate our careers to. I agree with your praise of the coaches on this board, particularly the vetran coaches who are so willing and eager to share their time and experience despite the busy schedules we all keep. I have frequented many football coaching boards in my time, and none have the professionalism, comradare, and openness of opinion and thought that the jcfb board boasts. Most boards are bogged down with thoughless requests for info or playbooks, or with people who are dead-set on one way of doing things and convinced that theirs is the only way.

Here is a board that is a genuine sharing of ideas and information that rises above all that nonsense. Opinions are always given and are always respected on this board, despite any contrary beliefs. Coach's egos take a back seat here to the true learning and sharing environment.

For me, coming out here is like going to a clinic every day. I've increased my knowledge tenfold from my interactions with coaches out here...and made some good professional "friends" in the coaching world as well.

We have you and Lyle to thank for promoting such an attitude, and surely we have the professionalism and open willingness to share ideas from coaches like Tiger One, Oneback, and many, many other fine men out here.

We've been talking about holding a clinic here in Victoria with several of you from our forum. I feel as well as others it would be something to look at. It would be a pleasure to have all of you here to Victoria. Coach CAmpbell

On the topic of clinics...
Why doesn't anyone seem to do football clinics over the summer when HS coaches have more time for this type of thing?
Your thoughts?
Most coaches I know coach other sports as well and it makes it very difficult to get to clinics!

I was referring to a clinic that I am hosting at Coach Campbells facility that is a non X and 0 clinic and is being designed to deal directly with OTHER PERTINENT COACHING ASPECTS. Things like how to deal with
parents, "me me" attitude players, how to raise funds, dealing with school boards, etc. Coach Campbell has very magnanimously offered his facility for me to host the event. I have invited him, oneback, Coach JD, and CYFL coach Dave Hatman to join me as speakers. I have received some very positive commitments at this point and will be posting an application form for perspective attendee's later in the Fall.

Now, would you have someone tape the speakers. I would love to come to the clinic but frankly, I'm just too poor to afford the trip. I would love to buy the tape. As a young coach aspiring to be a head coach, it seems that those clinics are the ones you can't learn from playing football.

I have been able to put together a football clinic for the kids in our town and surrounding areas. I was quite surprised to get LeRoy Butler, Santana Dotson and Gilbert Brown to attend.., that was the easy part, any suggestions on an agenda and forum, time is short, July 16th, I need to advertise and plan for roughly 300 kids and have no plans as to what type of forum or ideas as to what to coach for the various levels, any one have some ideas that have worked in the past?

If any coaches are avaiable on June 10th here in Victoria, Texas we will also have the University of Houston Staff for friday on the field and classroom that evening followed by the next day on Saturday talking all the football you would like. Coach CAmpbell

I have been away from this board for awhile. I am in the process of changing jobs and will be moving so obviously that has consumed alot of my time. Your June 10th clinic is a great idea and I would love to attend, however I will be working a football camp in the valley during that time. If you plan to have another next spring or summer, I will make plans to attend. I look forward to getting back involved with this site. It really is a valuable resource. pdow
