Coach Campbell, First off, I'd like to thank you and all the other coaches on your site for al the great info I've gotten recently. I'm in the running for my first Varsity Head Coaching job, and a lot of the organizational info has helped me greatly. I have a HUGE question, not sure how exactly to ask it, but here goes. The school is only in it's second year of having a FB program and most of the athletes are in their first or second year playing. There is no junior high program as of yet and we're only looking at 600+ kids in 7th through 12th grade. Needles to say, the new coach is going to have a big job ahead of him when the decision is made. The new coach is to be announced in the first week of June, and they already have a scrimmage set for the last week of June. Needless to say, there isn't much time to get things in order! Just in case, I'm trying to come up with an offensive plan that will be simple enough to teach a small team where most kids will play both ways. I really like your Option on Me series and the zone blocking in order to compensate for being under-sized and inexperienced. I have your entire Option on Me video series and some offensive line stuff from you as well. Do you have any advice on proceeding with this plan to implement this system in such a limited timeframe and without mentally taxing the players? I run a basic 4-3 defense that should be solid and should not be overwhelming for them to learn. I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and advice. Sorry for being so long-winded.
Thanks and Regards,
