I have a kid at center who is very enthusiastic about us running out of the Gun. However he is having trouble with the snap of the ball. Any pointers that anyone can give me to help him?
The biggest problem he's having is that he tends to snap the ball WAY too high.

Make sure he holds the football as if thowing it. Also his butt must be below parallel when snapping and the aiming point the belt buckle of the QB. Coach CAmpbell
it's never about aiming for anything, because he's either going to aim really hi or really low, it almost never goes where you want it. the only 2 real important thing are stance and release point. coach was right about one thing, his butt has to be parallel, otherwise the ball will go every which way no matter where his release point is. make sure it is parallel to the playing field. the next thing is release point. when i was learning how to gun snap the one thing that helped me the most was telling me to release at mid calf. he is probably releasing at the knees which, while great for snapping for punts, is disastrous for snapping for gun. have him grab it like he would when he's throwing a pass, and tell him to fire it straight back and make sure he releases at mid-calf. there's no way that ball will go anywhere but right for that QB's torso. you shouldn't have a problem with this.
don't worry about what you don't know. if you had to know what you dont' know you would've learned it by now
