Coaches I am starting to work on my playbook for next season. I am wanting to run the option from the gun and under center. I am wanting to run out of the flexbone, wishbone, and gun. How many different plays should I have out of each formantion. and does anybody know of someone who has a playbook with these formations already in it.

Coach,
Im just curious here but why the need to run the option out of flexbone, wishbone and gun?? The best advice I can provide is to start out with a short list of plays that you feel are essential to the success of your offense. Work on these plays until you feel your kids have them down pat and then you can add from there. You definetly dont want to start out with too much as you risk overwelming your kids with too much info. Hope this helps.
I agree with Coach Nicholson. A well-respected coach in our area interviewed me for a spot on his staff in 1997. One question was, "How do you teach execution?" At the time, I had no idea (I got the job in spite of that fact). His answer was, "Simplicity." It is something I have always kept in mind while I am coaching. In fact, I am always asking our coaches, "Do we have too much offense?" Most guys want to put stuff in; I want to take stuff out...and it ALWAYS makes us better.
