Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
i wanted to know if any one had any thoughts or insight replacing the offside pulling guard on a power play.
we can't have a fullback fill for the guard and our center can't block back.
if the backside guard is covered and he pulls, is it possible to have the backside tackle try to take the inside man. whether it was a 3 technique tackle or a 2i? i think all you need to do is prevent penetration.
i am also thinking that only a quick, well coached DLM would be able to chase the play inside out.
the Center SHOULD be able to block back if he blocks flat down the LOS (AND the pulling Guard isn't split over 18" to 24" - PREFERABLY no more than 18"). We have the Off T step laterally to squeeze the B gap & get a hand on the DT to give the Center a little help, then the Off T hinges on edge rusher.
Get the Russ Grimm tape from the 2000 COOL clinic. He goes over all this. Others on this site have posted the address for the COOL tapes, etc.
Is the power play out of an Ace formation? with 7 blockers
If so count men on each side ...choose smallest number and run power "stick" this means the TE sticks on the end, PT and PG should combo to BSLB, center block back, BSG skip and pull up in the hole for PSLB...BST can "slam and hinge", bste protects c gap up this should solve that issue if you are in an double te set with single back
You are either coaching it or allowing it to happen!</blockquote>
