Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We run split back veer, primarily from a two TE set.
Here is what a team ran vs. us two weeks ago and shut us down.
They had 8 techs on our TE's, 5 Techs on our OT's, a NG, two ILB's, an Ivert to the TE/Flanker side, and cover 3 CB's and FS.
Finally, they played their 5 techs and NG 1 yard off the ball.
Wherever we went, they slanted hard in that direction and blew us up. We could not get anything going. One would think that ISV would have been great but they were knocking our OT's off track and blowing up the FB, allowing the ILB's to scrape over the top to the QB and the 8 techs, FS and single side TE corneback were able to get to the Pitch.
Our base plays are midline, ISV, OSV, Load Opt, Belly G (Wing-T guys call it Down), and Counter Tre.
Run veer by double teaming the nose, veer releasing the OT on the ILB and veer releasing the TE on the ILB. That should stop the slant with the nose. This should help.
