Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We have a balanced attack run/pass about 50/50. We have been keeping our linemen in a 2 pt. stance the last 6 weeks but still have problems with them firing out and getting to high. They work every day in the shutes running different drills and even hit the sled from the 2 pt. stance. Any other suggestions?

rigomez,
I believe it is naturally harder for a kid to stay low when coming out of a 2 point stance and im not sure there is any majic formula for gettting kids to stay low. All that I can really reccomend is to keep repping your drills that emphasize low pad level. Here is something we do coming out of the shoots.
Get yourself a 2x4 peice of lumber and lay it underneath the shoots. Have your O-linemen get under the shoots in the proper stance, from their stance have them execute their proper footwork and punch into a teammate who will give resistance, once they are engaged with their teammate have them work their way to the end of the board(which should be at least 10 feet long) by taking short/choppy steps (they will basically be duckwalking). This drill teaches low pad level and it also allows you to emphasize the use of proper steps while keeping a wide base. (if they step on the board their base is too wide!)
You may have already done this drill but its just something we do in the shoots.
We use both a 3pt stance and a 2 pt stance and from what I have seen in my kids is in the 2 pt stance they don't get the same bend in the knee's or hip's as they do in the 3 pt stance. It is very natural in the 2 pt stance to stand up or be a waist bender. Take a look at the kids knee bend and make sure they are duckwalking with the same bend in the knees and hips in your drills from the 2 pt as they would have in the 3 pt.

We felt like we did not want to indicate run/pass to the defense by the lineman's stance. It has helped our pass protection which is a priority for us.
