This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Some coaches have you said they have had a lot of success vs the 5-2 Monster with Double TE Outside Veer. I also would like to run Inside Veer. We are facing a Monster team this week and I planned on running Twins with Outside Veer back to the TE and ISV to the Twins, mixing in some Midline away from the 1 Tech.
I also added a PA pass with a Skinny Post/Wheel out of Twins. Any other suggestions? We run Midline, ISV, OSV and a little Belly Option. We are an I formation Team.
Flood passing plays will hurt this team to the monster side. Throw to backs out of the backfield out of flood and away from the monster. This will cause this team to do things that they aren't equiped to do in a 5-2 monster. My philosophy on veer is that you need to be able to run veer vs. anything. Prepare to run outside veer if they crash to take away your inside veer. Double TE outside veer is a good idea, because they can't just defend the veer to one side. I hope this helps and good luck.

If you put the TE and Flanker into the boundary, that might put them in a bind. Where do they put the monster? If they line him up to the field, then run option into the boundary. Lead option is good into the short side. Additionally, ISV or OSV with the CB as the pitch key can also be effective into the sideline.
Also, by using shifts and/or motions, you may be able to confuse the run support system. Does the monster change sides with the strength? If he does, then he has to sprint across the field, at least once, and then play force. If they rotate, then the monster has to rotate back and play the alley.
