Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
The content of the discussions on these boards are the best I've found. Does anyone have any other sites you visit to discuss fotball coaching? As always,
thanks, Mav
This is one of the best. Other sites that are good are very specific to a type of offense or defense. But for defensive posts this is the best site. As for offensive sites there are some very good ones if you are a wing coach, double wing coach, or option coach.

Why go anywhere else coach? jcfb.com has pretty much anything you need to know and what it doesn't is because someone has simply not asked the right question.
Soooo, let's ask away! Have a great holidays to all in the forum!

I agree this is a great site, but quite a few of the topics are empty (or at least very sparse). Last year there seemed to be more topics from years past... maybe it's archived somewhere. DOes anyone know how to get to the old archived discussions?
In general, I like to thoroughly review all of the old posts/archives before posting a question, to ensure it's not redundant. If not, I'll start posting topics for discussion.

Honestly, I have gone on other sites and nothing comes close. The Megaclinic board was good five years ago, but it is now ruined by all the people trying to sell tapes and how people have gotten ripped off by trying to buy tapes. If you're a Wing-T guy bucksweep.com is great! For the option, you're best staying right here.

Like I have posted before I am not a very good Xs and Os coach this site has made me understand this part of the game better. I learn something new everytime I log on and browse through the postings. Thanks for a great site and making me a better coach. Clinc season is coming up I hope I get a chance to meet some of you coming to the New England area in person. Have a great holiday season and a better off season.
Go to your profile and under personal options, change "Days back to view topics for:" to 999 and all of the archived posts will reappear for you. Hope this helps and hope everyone has a safe and merry Christmas and New Year.

I just came aboard and feel very welcomed . I tried other sites and was involved for many years with one but with all of the guru's and other's putting one down in one way or another just finally got me to looking .
Never before did I get welcomed the way I did here by coach Campbell. As I see it you guy's give your viewpoint's to help at all level's understanding that not all of us have the knowleadge of you all. Guess what I'm trying to say is you guys do this without putting one down .THATS A GOOD FEELING.. I'm done
looking..
This site is the best! Chuck & Duck is VERY good also.
Problem I have with the HUEY board is that many of the people formerly on THIS site who wanted to ARGUE about everything, have switched over to "HUEY's".
Also have had the moderator on that site try to tell me what I should & shouldn't SAY (I have had ancestors who have fought & died for my freedom of thought, & speech). Freedom of thought & expression are very dear to me. That's why I stick with JCFB!
HUEY's discourages the cutting & pasting of ARTICLES! I think that this is necessary (see some of the articles on the various phases of the game I have posted on this site).
They also "complained" because I cut & paste exerpts from my playbook in "CAPS". I write my playbook in caps because it makes it EASIER to read. I do not have time to re-type paragraphs, so when I need to quote from my playbook - I cut & paste. That upsets them to no end!
I pefer a board like this one, that is "hassle free"!!!!!
I have been with the jcfb forum for 2 years there abouts, and find it to be the best, bar none. I made a short junket to other boards but found them not to my liking and have always considered this board as
"my board". Being an ordained minister, as well as, a football coach I have always enjoyed the professional restraint of language becoming foul and very unbecoming to a public forum such as we have here. Jerry Campbell is to be heartily commended, in my opinion, for setting an example for all of us to follow. The true feeling of wanting to help others, and with no other motive of any kind, most of us who post here enjoy being able to share a lifetime of experience with the newer coaches, as well as, the other very experienced coaches you will find here. There is never any attempt to prosolyte from other boards or anything being said on this forum other than things that are intended to be helpful by all of us who post.
It is true that the number of posters is down this year, but all we have to do is get some interesting threads on the various topics going again, and we will be as good as ever.

Four years ago, Coach Campbell started this site as a way to have, as he said it, "a clinic every night." This site has helped me make wonderful friends and has helped me learn so much about the sport of football. I have tried other sites. THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM ON THOSE OTHER SITES HAS KEPT ME AWAY FROM THEM. I attempted to post on The X's and O's of football site. Although, there is tremendous variety on that site, the problem on that site is that there are too many coaches with "axes to grind" who seem very dissatisfied with their coaching careers and/or lives. There is great variety on that site, but I do not like the attitudes of the posters. The Megaclinic site angered me recently with the antics of one coach, and now I refrain from posting on there. If you read the specific post regarding the coach to whom I am referring, I could not believe that I actually spoke up against that Coach, but I had to do it. Bucksweep.com is a very good site, but it's one-dimentional (Wing-T based site).
We are true PROFESSIONALS on this site.
The men who posted above me have taken this board to the next level. Coach Mountjoy and Rev. Easton have been consistent posters who have nearly 100 years of coaching experience between the two of them. Quite honestly, I get discouraged when we lose good coaches to these other boards. There is not one board that can match the PROFESSIONALISM of the JCFB board. This is why I've been posting on here for four years. This is the one place where we can talk football and purely football. The ego-level on this board is considerably less than ALL of the other boards on which I have participated.
Quite honestly, the main reason why I participate is the LOYALTY I have to Coach Campbell. He's done so much for me and I am greatful. Also, I have maximum loyalty to Coach Easton, who has helped me in so many ways more than just football. He's the one guy on this board that puts me in my place. I hope we can continue to expand on this site, and make something great even better.

I just came on and had the priveldge to read the above comments. It is with great pride to have coaches such as yourselfs coming to JCFB. I enter my 34th year as a coach and hate the day the I have to hang my cleats up.. It is a changing profession in some ways these days, it seems that to many coaches take great pride in bashing others to make themselves look and feel better. I was talking with several fellows today about how some younger coaches and some old (not All) want it all up front with not much investment, and what has happened to loyalty and a good old hand sake or a mans word, something my father brought me up to honor and cherish. I certainly appreciate Tiger, CYFL, Oneback, Coach Cella, TM and the hundreds of other coaches that share unselfeshly to help others, my hat is off to ya'll. Lyle and I are dedicated to keeping our site up and running as a professional and honest way to learn the great game of football.. Coach CAmpbell
PS. Oneback you can cut and past to your hearts content here, I love reading all your posts.

This is the 1st message board I found and its still the best! However, I do also like Huey's board and im currently trying to help Coach Jaz build up his site. I feel like this site will always be #1 for me but I see nothing wrong with visiting more than 1 board. You never know where you might find some info that could help you get better. Again, I truly feel like my roots as an active Internet football coach come from this site and I will always stay loyal to the place that got me started.
Im not sure where I would be If it weren't for great ppl such as Coach Campbell, Coach Mountijoy, Coach Easton and other great coaches who were willing to help me get started. Id say my knowledge has multiplied over many times due to the time I have spent here!
John - there have been some good posts by some good PEOPLE on "X & O" (you, "Brophy", Zuck, Tiger-1, MBCOACH, ETC.), but I don't enjoy the association with the people on that site as much as I do THIS ONE. There are argumentive people on there that I don't care to waste time with!
this has helped me a great deal as a coach in the past year and a half.
However, maybe this is in left field, but I don't believe there to be no one, be-all-end-all-football-site. Each one of us has different personalities and preferences

16 The one part preacheth Christ of contention, and not purely, supposing to add
more affliction to my bands.
17 But the others of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the Gospel.
18 What then? Yet Christ is preached all manner ways, whether it be under a

Forgive my use of scripture, but that seemed to make the most sense to me.....the GAME is what matters. Whether you are a DW guy, a spread guy, an option guy....doesn't really matter - so long as the game advances and is put first and continues to grow for the next generation. There will be varying ways to "advance the game", different styles of interaction....but we are fighting over straws when the main thing....is the main thing = the game and helping others (advancing others) while learning from others (advancing ourselves)
My momma taught me when I was a child: If you can't say something nice about someone, just don't say anything at all. I have tried to remember that teaching all my life, and I'm sure I have failed at times, but never intentionally doing so. Life is to short to get into a war of words with those who don't share a particular view or opinion. I think you hit the nail on the head for sure, with your comment about the younger guys all wanting instant success without them having to "pay their dues" as it were. The way things are done here in our part of the south is you go to work for some well established HC who has credentials that are impeccable among his peers, runs an outstanding Football program that WINS CONSISTENTLY, and is known for his ability to produce head coaches from his rank of assistants over the years. Then, after a number of years under his tutelege AND HE FEELS YOU ARE READY, he will recommend you for a GOOD HEAD COACHING JOB THAT IS WORTH HAVING. It seems like now days, the the majority of the young coaches ( not all of course) want the title HEAD COACH after their name so badly from the minute they start coaching, they forget that all REALLY GOOD HEAD FOOTBALL COACHES SERVED THEIR APPRENTICESHIP UNDER SOME MASTEROF OUR CRAFT. They seem to think it is more important to get THEIR POINT OF VIEW over to the HC than anything else, when in reality they are just dimininshing their chances for success by alienating the HC! I do alot of counseling with young coaches, just as I'm sure you and Bill do also, and I find this to be a really prevelant trait among the young guys.
I guess it is a natural evolution from living in a society of INSTANT GRATIFICATION, but IMO, it is a real disturbing trend for anything worth having is worth PAYING YOUR DUES TO EARN IT!

Coach Easton,
As you know I am a young coach and I told you in an email last night that I am counting down the days till I become a head coach and I meant every word of it! Not trying to argue here but I feel like I would be cheating myself if I didnt aspire to become a head coach ASAP. Becoming a well respected and very succesfull head football coach is my main dream in life outside of Family of course. Im not sure if any of what you said in your last post applied to me or not but I'll be the first to tell anyone who would like to know that I am working my tail off every day of my life in preparation for the time when I am fortunate enough to be hired as the Leader of a program.

John it will happen when the time is right and you find the right fit. Alot of times it happens when you least expect it. You keep doing what your doing and keep an open mind. You have some good men above giving great advice. Coach Campbell
Even though I have never spoken with Coach Campbell personally, I will agree with Tiger One in that he has definitely set a standard of professionalism here on this board, which I have always appreciated. I have learned a tremendous amount of information from this board and I will always be grateful and appreciative to Coach Campbell for providing it. Also, I will never be able to put in words just how valuable the advice from coaches such as Coaches Campbell, Easton, Mountjoy, etc. has been on my life and career.
For you new coaches on this site (and the vets), Coach Campbell is a class act. His wealth of knowledge and help years ago when I applied for the head coach position at our school, was invaluable. (I got the job!) I cannot thank him (and all the other great coaches on here - TigerOne, Oneback, Coach Cella, Jimbo Hale, et al) enough.
My sincere hope is that in some small way, I can try to give something back to the profession with anything I might be able to share/add with other coaches on this board.
Yours in football,
tm
Coaches,
While I have not posted much on this site, I have been reading and learning from your posts ever since I met Coach Campbell at the Seattle Glazier Clinic. I was so impressed by his professionalism and graciousness in taking time to talk with a new head coach that I just had a feeling that his forum would be a class act... I have not been disappointed. I appreciate all of your willingness to discuss this great game, and am inspired by people like Coaches Easton, Mountjoy, Cella... et. al. who are willing to credit good ideas as well as question dubious points. Thank you, and I look forward to getting into the mix as I continue to examine and refine my own coaching.

Coach Cella. I'm sorry to hear that you feel that way about Huey's. I think that it's a great place to discuss football, as is this one.
