I haven't seen any single wing stuff on here in quite some time. We are primarilly a pro-I team that will have a very good power-type running QB next year and two RB's who are more than capable blockers. We would really like to add some old-school single wing to our offense. Not really any of the spinner series, or even much trapping game like the modern shotgun offenses, but power right-at-you stuff.
Any formations, plays, links, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
IMO, if you want to power it up and you're already an I-formation team...run your same iso schemes but with 2 lead backs and your QB following up the hole. But you should also include a play action and a counter compliment to whatever you put in. Even if it's just for short yardage. A nice p/a or counter could be a game breaker against an evenly matched opponent.
I have run the Single WING Offense at the Youth LEvel for my last 5 Fall Teams. With 4 different clubs in 4 different Leagues, went 51-1 with it. You dont really need a great TB, but itf you haveone, what bother with intermediary (QB) to flub it up? BTW Ive had the the FB as my leading rusher 2 times and in 2005, my blocking back was right near the top. The Spinner and wedge series are excellent and no one runs it around here.
