I am not a wing t coach but I use some wing t concepts (sequencing plays, sally, jet series, multiple formations to gain flank advantage, etc). Could someone explain to me what the rocket sweep is and, if possible, the rules?
The rocket sweep is the fastest, widest quick pitch possible. Navy does it a lot. Motion your back full speed, and pitch it to him. You want him to catch it just outside the OT. Blocking rules depends on what you want. The simplest blocking scheme is to have everyone reach pitch side. Some will pull the FSG. Probably better if your pull FST. The original rocket sweep is based on the bucksweep. So, the full back dives opposite. But you can do whatever you want there too. Some have the fullback block backside. Others will have the fullback cover to the FST to simulate the down/belly play.
But thinking of it as the fastest, widest quick pitch possible will help you understand the play better.
