I would be very dubious about this! Is it a HS level league or a semi-pro league? The reason I ask, when I first started my professional minor league team I had kids who were still in their senior year in HS who wanted to come and try out every time we had a scout combine. MY PERSONAL RULE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! For the first reason, I did not want to ruin a kids chances of playing college ball by making him inelgible! I called Overland Park, KS (home of the NCAA Legal Dept.) and got information first hand, I was not about to accept hearsay. They told me as long as the athlete did not receive any pay of any kind, I could not even buy his equpiment and uniforms for him, not even a pair of socks, he was in no danger of losing his elgibility for college. Of course, my guys were paid and everything furnished for them. As soon as I heard that, I made a steadfast rule that noone under the age of 19 and completely out of high school
was elgible to even try out! Secondly, I certainly did not want to alleniate the local HS programs by taking any of their kids who still had elgibility to play HS sports! They all signed their contracts that had a clause that stated that very thing: That they did not want to play college ball and that they fully understood that by signing with us they would forfeit their college elgibility because of the fact that they would be be paid and that they would receive all expenses paid as well. Consequently, I never had any kind of problem whatsoever. But, I heard over the years of many who did get involved improperly and cost kids their college elgibility! Take it for what it is worth.

Well if there isn't a good backup I would say forget about it. ACL tears take at LEAST 6-8 months to heal. If I were in your situation I would say forget about it.

I'm with CYFL on this I would not trust my QB in a full contact league beside I would want to know if the techniques follow what I'm trying to teach him. Coach CAmpbell
NO WAY WOULD I PERMIT IT!!! COACH CAMPBELL BRINGS UP AND EXCELLENT POINT BY WANTING TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF QB TRAINING HE WILL RECEIVE AND IF IT IS CONTRARY TO WHAT YOU ARE TEACHING. QB'S ARE MADE, NOT BORN, AND THEY CERTAINLY DON'T GROW ON TREES! AT OUR LEVEL, I GOT TO WHERE I DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO PLAY BUT 1 PRESEASON GAME( WE HAD TO PLAY 4) BECAUSE THE RISK FACTORS INVOLVED.
