what are the best DRILL videos and/or teaching progression videos for teaching the footwork and technique used in inside and outside zone. i already have the gibbs tapes from gilman gear... good stuff but no drills. i need an actual teaching progression and drill work. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
2) Rep a 2 on 1 block. Have each player step with their playside foot and target the playside number of the DL with their hands/punch. Make sure they work hip to hip and shoulder to shoulder.
Just simply work on getting a vertical push - do NOT rush into the 2 on 2 stuff. I would rep this several times - perhaps for a day or two (I believe Iowa does this) before progressing into the 2 on 2 combo stuff.
3) Work on a 2 on 2 combo: Do not worrry about where the DL is or the LB is offset to - just simple work a stack going to the R and then L. Have the LB remain stationary -> DO NOT CHASE HIM! As a coach you can then progress to having the DL & LB give you all the looks that you could possibly see from a D front.
The key coaching points are:
1) Get a VERTICAL PUSH ON THE DL!
2) Four Hands (DL) Four Eyes (LB)
3) Come off at the LB ONLY when he attacks the LOS or you reach his level - DO NOT CHASE THE LB!!!!
