Coaches,
I have to do a replication study for an Ed. Psych class that I am taking. The study deals with coaching efficacy, which in the case of this study, is defined as the belief of coaches that they can successfully carry out the duties of a coach and enact behaviors expected of coaches. The reason for the original study was to evaluate coach's levels of confidence so that future coaching preparation programs could be better tailored to fit the needs of the general coaching population.
If you don't mind, would you please take a moment and evaluate your levels of confidence on the following four dimensions??? Your help is greatly appreciated!!!
The scale is a 1 to 10 scale, with:
a 1 being least confident in your abilities and a 10 being most confident in your abilities. Of course a 5 would be somewhat confident, and so forth.
Dimension 1:
Motivating Athletes: how confident are you in this dimension?
Dimension 2:
Strategy Use: how confident are you in implementing and carrying out specific strategies (such as game plans, etc.)?
Dimension 3:
Coaching Techniques: how confident are you in actual "coaching" or teaching and how confident are you at implementing different techniques based on the learning audience, age group, etc?
Dimension 4:
Building Character in Athletes: How confident are you in serving as a role model for young athletes?
Please rate yourself for each dimension on a 1 to 10 scale, if you have anything to add for any dimension or a reason as to why you feel a certain way, please feel free to do so! Remember this is based on how CONFIDENT you are at performing each dimension, NOT what priority you place the dimension at or what you feel is most important in being a good coach.
Thanks, guys! I appreciate in advance ANY help you can give me on this project!
