Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coach, it's the same as cover 2 except in Tampa 2, the Mike linebacker has the tight end man to man. This eliminates the dangerous seam pattern by the tight end, which in this coach's opinion, is the most effective play to run vs. cover 2.

That is not my understanding of Tampa 2. I understand that the Mike drops back into middle coverage to insures the MOF stays closed, not only to the TE but to all receivers. If he just had TE coverage only, all you would have to do is have the TE influence him in any number of ways by pulling him out of the MOF and leave it wide open for backside routes breaking into the MOF.
