With the NFL Draft about an hour away, I am curious as to your opinions of the draft. With the signing of Mario Williams, ole Mel Kiper's Draft Board is thrown out the window. I predict that Bush will slide to at least number 5 with the recent problems arising. New Orleans will not pass on Matt Leinart as future QB, New York Jets may take Bush to increase their attendance but I see them taking a defensive player. With the number 5 pick, I think Bush will be wearing a Green Bay jersey as Tennessee will take Leinart if he is there or Vince Young. I will say that Charley Casserly has the whole football world turned upside down, but he did what was in the best interest of the team and he did not listen to the fans, who wanted Young initially, then Bush. I have to applaud him on doing what he felt his team needed. If I were him, I would have chosen Bush based on the fact that he would be a great asset and put some butts in the seats at Reliant.
I am curious to hear from you guys, we may not be draft experts but it is fun to speculate!

The Cowboys picked Bobby Carpentar from Ohio State. Great pick for them! They really need to bolster their LB corp although I was hoping for a Michael Huff, just was hoping although. If he were still there at 18, I would have some concerns. They really need to focus on a quality FS.
New Orleans surprised me with their pick of Bush, Buffalo's pick has me scratching my head with Donte Whitner. His numbers were not great at the combine and it was a concensus of reporters that he would be a second round pick. Young to Tennessee was a good pick, surprised to see Leinart go all the way down to 10. It was a good pick for the Cards, but I fear their lack of o-line may have the Cards wishing they picked Young, who can run for his life a bit better. The rest of the draft has gone the way I thought it would. I hate that Huff is a Raider and not a Cowboy, but that is the NFL!
I just heard the Lendale White has not passed a drug test according to Blue Star Media, the Dallas Cowboys Media group. One word--Wow! Never would have thought that would happen.
Go Cowboys!

The Bills are rapidly becoming the worst organization in football. Ralph Wilson has completely gone senile, Marv Levy has no experience doing a GM job, and there were 100 better coaches out there than Dick Jauron. I predict that this franchise will be in another city in five years (maybe L.A.). That's sad, because Buffalonians LOVE their football! In my opinion, Buffalo is one of the most underrated cities in the United States. Great place-bad NFL franchise!

With two geriatric patients running the organization, he has no chance. He had to know going into the situation that it was a no-win ordeal. I'll give HIM a chance, but I know deep down inside that he has little to none, because he has an unstable owner and a GM who is 80 with severe health problems and a very, very passive philosophy. It's sad because the people in Buffalo love their football.

I just read a few stories about how the media was wondering what the Texans were thinking with picking Mario Williams. If he is a bust, just wait for the ESPN show "5 Reasons Why . . . " the Houston Texans did not draft Reggie Bush.
I do question a lot that the Buffalo Bills are doing with their organization, but I have a wait and see attittude to see if what they have done in free agency and the draft comes out with some "W's". If not, then they need to look in the mirror as far as management on why things went wrong.
I see Lendale White is with Vince Young and the Titans. That should be interesting to see. I am awful disappointed the Cowboys did not address their need for a young safety. The free agent picks are not impressive and just about every paper, story, or analysis stated that the Cowboys should pick a safety to groom or to start. Once again, they bucked the trend and their needs. Maybe t.o. can play safety too!

overall it was a very safe, and somewhat predictable, draft for all 32 teams. i am most impressed with Denver's ability to get what they needed and also how several teams didnt get caught up in the hype of a player. Overall, I am very impressed.

The one thing that drives me nuts about Denver is that they are too aggressive and take too many chances with personnel. They believe that they are one player away from the Super Bowl. I do not agree at all. There are two reasons why they will not go back to a Super Bowl--1. John Elway; 2. Alex Gibbs.

There are so many things that transpire behind closed doors int he NFL, the average fan just has no clue as to what the real thought processes of these teams happen to be. All the predraft hype is exactly that, to keep the other team guesing as to what they are really going to do come draft day. You can bet your bottom dollar that the Texans talked PLENTY with Reggie bush prior to taking another prospect. We will never know as outsiders if they just didn't want to, or couldn't meet the financial demands of Bush, or if Bush was pulling a number like Eli Manning pulled with the Chargers by telling them he just flat didn't want to play for them as he was not a good fit for their team, or what REALLY transpired. It is easy to sit back and surmise all these things that you guys are discussing here, but to think that you really are getting a clear picture is to delude yourselves. Remember coaches, you don't get an NFL franchise by being stupid and as dumb as some things certain clubs do that may look that way to the general public, they have been well thought out by the guys who are paid millions to make those decisions. Just my opinion as always.

Good point Tiger! Just like any fan, we love to second guess our favorite teams and especially be critical of the ones we dislike. The great thing is that we can make our own choices, watch what our teams did, and if they work--great, if not, at least we will not lose a job over it. I am not a Fantasy Footballer because I stay pretty busy with our youth program, but it is fun to try to second guess our favorites. And one last point, when your favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones makes it too easy to second guess his decisions. I have a bunch of friends who kid me about the Cowboys signing T.O., I have a wait and see policy as I have seen what they have done in the past with the likes of Charles Haley and pretty much handled Deion Sanders. I look for T.O. to realize that he does not get many more chances and with the Cowboys, it could be his last. I think he will have a good 3 years in Dallas with a bump here and there, but I am not sure if they will go all the way with T.O. He is a really talented receiver and the Eagles were in dire need of a WR at the time, but Dallas still has a lot of holes to fill particularly if Bledsoe gets hurt, or they don't find a quality FS via the draft. Julius Jones still has to prove himself a worthy heir apparent to Emmitt Smith and the o-line will be a question mark.
Anyway, day 2 is starting and let the second guessing begin!

BILL PARCELLS WILL NOT PUT UP WITH ANY GARBAGE FROM OWENS, WAIT AND SEE. I HOPE HE IS SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT IF HE DROPS THE BALL IN DALLAS, HE WON'T MAKE ANOTHER RED CENT IN THE NFL. HE IS A GREAT RECEIVER, BUT HAS A LOT TO LEARN IN MY BOOK IN A LOT OF OTHER ASPECTS OF BEING A PRO. I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD YOU ARE, IF YOUR A CANCER ON A BALL TEAM, YOU NEED TO BE CUT OUT IMMEDIATELY SO YOUR ATTITUDE DOESN'T SPREAD!
LIVING HERE RIGHT CLOSE TO CLEMSON UNIV. I WATCHED WITH INTEREST TO SEE WHERE TY HILL, # 1 CB IN THE DRAFT ACCORDING TO THE "EXPERTS" WOULD GO, ALONG WITH QB CHARLIE WHITEHURST.
TY WENT AT # 15 OVERALL TO THE RAMS AND CHARLIE WENT IN THE 3 RD ROUND AT # 81 TO THE CHARGERS. HE IS A BIG STRONG ARMED KID AT 6'5 AND HIS DAD WAS A FORMER NFL QB. HAVING WATCHED HIS COLLEGE CAREER, HE IS A STREAKY KIND OF PLAYER IN THAT WHEN HE GETS HOT HE IS ON FIRE WITH PIN POINT ACCURACY. WHEN HE IS NOT, HE TENDS TO REALLY BE OFF SOME DAYS. THE NFL WILL MAKE HIM CONSISTENT I HOPE.
