Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
The state I'm currently coaching in gives us two weeks for spring football, but the only thing we're allowed to use are cleets, tees, and balls. I'm an OLine guy, I need dummies, shields, that sort of stuff. What would you provided the circumstances?
MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE! IF THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE,LEARN TO MAKE DO WITH WHAT YOU ARE ALLOWED. OBVIOUSLY, YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED THE STANDARD "TOOLS OF THE TRADE" AS AN O LINE COACH, SO BE INNOVATIVE. BARNSTORM WITH THE REST OF THE STAFF AND YOUR HC AND COME UP WITH AGILITIES THAT WILL ENABLE YOUR GUYS TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE AS A COACH AND THAT EMULATE ACTUAL TECHNIQUES THAT YOU WILL BE USING. OBVIOUSLY, IF YOUR NOT EVEN PERMITTED HELMETS, THERE WILL BE NO CONTACT OF ANY KIND. bUT, IT WOULD BE A GREAT TIME TO REALLY INSTILL THE CORRECT HAND POSITIONING OF YOUR GUYS ON THE DL, THE PROPER TECHNIQUE FOR BASE AND ZONE BLOCKING ( STEPS AND HANDS, LANDMARKS, ETC.) TIME TO EMPHASISE THE ALL IMPORTANT SECOND STEP AND GETTING IT DOWN TO MAINTAIN BALANCE, ETC.
ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING YOU CAN COME UP WITH TO MAKE CERTAIN THEY ARE EXECUTING THE BASIC BLOCKS CORRECTLY THAT THEY WILL BE UTILIZING COME FALL. DON'T WASTE TIME LAMENTING OVER WHAT YOU CAN'T DO, FOCUS IN ON WHAT YOU CAN DO AND GO TO WORK! BEST OF LUCK.

Point taken. I was just looking for reaffirment of what I'm doing. Yesterday was our first day. We worked on fitting and driving from a fit position. Personally, I don't know why the rules are set up that way out here. My guess is that when the state set it up like this, they meant for it to be a precursor to passing league. Problem is with that, passing leagues are hard to find out here, very low participation. Thanks for the input though!
For offensive linemen get the 55 gallon plastic industrial drums with curved bottoms and you can do more line drills that you can handle. The barrells are the best teaching tools for o-line than you can imagine. Coach CAmpbell
If your permitted to use the barrells, that is a great idea. But, if you are permitted only what you said in your original post, they would be illegal, right? If you would be permitted barrells, why can't you use the dummies, chutes, shields, etc.? No doubt about it though, if you can use the barrells, go for it!

There in most states the use of barrells or aids other than stand up or lay down dummies are permitted. With the use of barrells they are not specifically addressed. Coach CAmpbell
If you go to megaclinic.com and the drills section under offensive line you can down load the drills that come off the barrells for free. Coach CAmpbell
I'm in AZ too. Any drills where I would normally use a dummy or sled, I substituted a man in a catch position. We've banged on each other the first week, with the understanding we've got to look out for each other. It's went well so far. Thanks for the suggestions!
We did alot of footwork types of things, as well as front recognition. We are a zone team, so we did our covered and uncovered rules against various looks. We also did alot of work on stance, fit, and fit and drive. Not much to do with ZERO equipment but we did alright.
