A.C.L. tear

In my 42 years coaching experience, I have had players back in as short a time as 8 months now days, with the average being 12-15 months for full rehab. Of course, not so long ago an ACL tear was career ending, but thank the good Lord that has been overcome. I ALWAYS TRY TO HAVE MY PLAYERS IN THE BEST PHYSICAL SHAPE POSSIBLE 12 MONTHS OF THE YEAR, NOT 9. IT DOES NOT PRECLUDE GETTING INJURED, BUT IT WILL CERTIANLY INSURE HIS EXPEDIENCY IN REHABBING BACK TO NORMAL A LOT QUICKER. Best of luck with your boy, and please tell him for me it is all up to HIM and his personal work ethic (how badly he really wants to get back) that will tell the story. I will pray for him to recover as quickly as possible.

i had an ACL tear in season in 1989 and played in the following season and never had a problem. Last year, one of my players tore his ACL in May and was told he could possibly play halfway during the season. IT NEVER HAPPENED. matter of fact, he was not even ready for basketball season until february. if your injury to your center just happened, dont get your hopes up. hopefully he is not a senior.
