Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We are going to add the midline to our offense this year and would like to hear from experienced 'midliners' regarding the best footwork for the QB. I have seen it ran where the QB opens with his playside foot and also where he jab steps with backside foot before opening playside. I welcome your thoughts.
Thanks,
tm

tm - Hope all is well. We push parallel to the L.O.S. which I call push away and then step at 6:00 o'clock. We want to push away to get out of the way of the fullback running at the crack of the butt of the center. The other way is to step with the backside foot at a 45 degree angle, this was used with freeze option to compensate for the pulling guard. The first scenereo is what we use and have used very successfully. Coach CAmpbell
We used the same steps for Midline that we used for our Center Trap(Wishbone formation). Thus we stepped with the backside foot and gained depth. We found that this worked very well for both our Midline with the Qb in b gap on a Pull Read and also allowed us to run our Wishbone Belly(Doubledive). The depth that the Qb gains allows him to attack B gap well and allows him to replace the READ key.
