Coach Easton expectations are very high, we play the featured game in Texas Saturday night in the Alamo Dome at 7:30 so we are very excited. Everyone is healthy and had a big QB move in this past summer that has been a big difference maker to the team as well. Thanks for all you provide to our coaches and to this site. You have made me a better coach and it is always a pleasure to have a man of god bring to football what you bring to people. Coach Campbell
Coach Campbell,
I hope your season is going well. I was hoping to get a copy of your practice plan. We are platooning this year and I have been experimenting with some different practice schedules. I am just looking for some different examples.
Can you send me a copy of your practice plan temp plate as well. Also your gameplan template if you have one. I am a youth coach in Wisconsin trying to build as much knowledge as I can for the future.
Coach
Wow this site is awsome.
Could you please forward me your practice plans. We 2 platoon so we have a good amount of time with our players. Just trying to see if we can do things more efficiently.

Week 8 Discussion: Game Planning Procedure
My weekly game planning would start immediately after the previous game was completed and everyone has left the field house and the stadium. I would typically watch my recording of Friday night hits so I could get an idea of whether or not my opponents for the upcoming week won or lost and get a look at their big plays for the night.
Saturday
I would open up the field house at 10:00am to allow the trainers to set up for any injured player who my need some medical treatment from game night. I would have Coaches meetings starting at 2:00pm. We will up load game film and grade out the game. We will watch our upcoming opponent’s film. I will have the offensive coordinator/ defensive coordinator and the position coaches break up in to teams and discuss the game plan for the upcoming week. We will leave after a team meeting and setting up the bulletin board for upcoming week.
Sunday
Coaches meeting starts at 2:00pm to allow everyone to attend church and get to the field house to get ready for the upcoming week. The offensive team will break down what they viewed from the game film and how we can attack their defense. The defense will do the same. We will then come together and draw up our game plan and how we will prepare the players. The player will arrive at 4:00pm for weightlifting and conditioning with will last approximately 1 hour. We will then break up into offense / defense meeting and discuss our game plan for the week hitting on corrections that need to be made from the previous week to get ready for our upcoming opponents. Once we’ve addressed those opportunities for learning we will come together for team and watch our opponent’s game addressing their strengths and weakness and how we will attack. At 6:00pm we will dismiss to allow our guys the opportunity for personal time.
Monday
The coaches arrive at 6:00am the players arrive at 7:00 am for morning meeting, film, and protein shakes and bars. We will upload the team study guide of the opponent to everyone’s chrome book to allow them time to view our game plan and strategy for this week. At 7:55 am dismiss so everyone can get to class.
At 2:00pm 4th Block weightlift class begins for all Varsity athletes. At 3:15 football practice begins full contact. All coaches on the field whistled up and game clock on with I-Pad in hand and ready to go by 3:20pm (Unless their week to supervise locker room until all player out). Players have to be on the field and ready to go 3:30pm. (If arrive at 3:31pm they are late). It is understood by everyone we coach like champions and practice like champions, we expect to win like champions so discipline is a major part of that and our player understand that and excepts the discipline in our program. Team stretching starts at 3:31pm, everything on the hustle. 3:45pm individual position drills with position coach. 4:00pm QB, RB, and WR team dills, OL and C team drills, 4:15pm come together for offensive team. Water break as need from water boys throughout practice.
At 5:15pm we break into our defensive position drills CB, SS, RB and FS with position coach. LB and DE with their position coach for drills, DL with their position coach. At 5:30 everyone comes together for defensive team practice and we go hard till 6:30pm. At 6:35pm we run team pursuit drills and finish up with wind sprints. By 7:15 field how is empty and we start the process all over again on Tuesday and Wednesday?
Thursdays
Pregame day perfect play practice starts at 3:00pm everyone in team semi-shirts and shorts. We start out with team stretch them we come together for team offense perfect play we go through out total offensive game verses a scout defense, no physically contact but everything on the hustle. At 4:00pm we switch to defense and run through our total defense on the hustle till 5pm. At 5:00pm will go through our kicking game and special team game till 6pm.
Game day

At 3:00pm pre-game meal, at 4:00pm pre-game walkthrough, at 4:30pm player free time to visualize the game and get dressed just relaxing till 6:00pm. At 6:00pm game prep for coaching staff and players fine tuning communicating strategies. 7:00pm go out on the field warm-up acclimated the team to the atmosphere of tonight, 7:45pm back in the locker room getting excited and ready to kick the door down.
