Coach jholley, did they have everyone on the LOS, bring them up presnap, or allow them to play games? Hopefully I can find someone who has the tape then. Thanks for the info, and hopefully I'll be able to find more.
It was on SC's first series on D. They had nobody on the line to start just different guys jumping around and then hitting gaps after the snap. Later on, the DEs looked like they were down and the Nose was standing.
I played the radar defense in HS and Two college teams also used the Radar Defense. I also coached the radar defense for several years. The defense is highly adaptable and works well against all types of offensive schemes. By the way my HS team was 23-1 over two years and won the state championship in Minnesota. I also developed a coaching handbook on how to teach the defense. If anyone is interested my email is rlwatke@Charter.net.

Look up Jules Yakapovich former Detroit Lion who was the head coach for Kenmore West High School in WNY in the 70s. His 1969 was the best team in the nation and we used this defense. We only averaged about 185 but not one could touch us in 69. The first move is always lateral depending on the offensive set in front of you. He wrote a book on this defense which I believe is still on Amazon. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work today, spread offense or not.
