We have a senior QB (1st team all conference in 2005; TEam captain for the third year in a row) who broke his collar bone in the pre-season...We have had a sophomore QB playing the first three weeks...has done ok but is no where near the athlete the senior is...We are 3-0 against teams that are a combined 0-9 and there are some in our community who want us to "rest" the SR. until later in the season...what do you guys think? Here, your last three games are district games, and you must win your district to get into the playoffs...Is it fair to this Sr. QB/Team Captain to rest him when the other seniors are out there playing!!! We are about to hit the roughest part of our schedule!!! Help?

First off the decision must be made by the coaching staff and not be influenced by ppl in the community. Having said that I believe your staff must be smart about how you use the SR. QB. Is the QB completely healthy now? If so I believe he needs to play in order to knock any rust off that he might have. Even though he is a very experienced veteran you still dont want to just throw him into the fire after getting no game time reps all season long.
