I am about to student teach in the spring and am about to start sending out letters after the semester for teaching/coaching positions. In Louisiana, I'll be certified to teach PE/Health/Math/CS. My main concentration is PE/Health but I'll have minors in Math and CS. I've looked at the Dept of Ed for Texas to check on certification but I'm not sure I'm understanding it. Questions include, is there a Praxis to ExCet comparison. I mean if I score high enough on the Praxis do I have to take the ExCet? Is there an hours minimum on minors, I'll have 32 hours of math and 30ish in CS. Will those work for alternate certification. Thanks in advance guys.
