Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Most of the teams in our MS conference run a 6-2 defense. To keep things simple for our 8th graders when they get to HS, I try and run the majority of the same spread offense our HS runs. This is what I was thinking for a simple QB-FB give/keep option play. I am going to have the PST go out and attack the DE. The Qb will read the DT for the give-keep key. If he keeps it, he will have the DE blocked by the OT.
Any thoughts or concerns as I have this "drawn" up?
When we run this it will be towards a slot or trips formation. The second and/or third recievers will be responsible for sealing off the LBs on the frontside and the center will have to cut-off and block the BS LB.
Give it a go in practice and see how it works out. Necessity is the mother of invention and if you need to put in a play of this type, give it a whirl!
