I have found out that if I want, I could student teach at a state power. Actually, unless I choose otherwise, I will student teach at that school. The middle school I have coached at feeds this high school so I have an idea of the system they run. Now I still have to go to the HC and talk to him about this but I have to make my decision on student teaching first. Should I go there and try to enhance what I know OR should I go somewhere else and learn something new? Any suggestions??

It isn't so much about knowing schemes, etc, but how you conduct yourself, practices, discipline, values, work ethic, etc. Just my opinion.

When you are ready to step up and seek a head coaching job of your own, you will have the added clout with the search community of having studied under a very successful coach who has taught you how to win, the X's and 0"s yes, but the more intangible things such as how to handle individual players, how to deal with parents, how to deal with the Administration, etc. which are a paramount point of learning! How to not only coach the team but how to RUN the team (learning the ins and outs of running the budget for example!). Just my opinion as always.

I'm gonna go talk to the HC, DC and OC sometime next week. I may see if there is anything I can do to help out. Be it cut film, shag balls, absolutely anything to that I can help do to make my self known.
