Option teams - how much option do you run?

I just finished my first year as an assistant coach with an option team. I think we ran it about the same as you, around 25-30% of the time. To my understanding, if you only run the option this much, you are not really an option team but a team that merely has the option in it's playbook. Another coach I met last year said the same thing...to be an option team, you must commit to the option at least 60%. We run Midline, Triple, Lead & Speed.
