and ran QB sneak. We ran it twice and earned 12 yards and 4 yards on our sneak. NOONE MOVES EXCEPT CENTER AND QB. As silly as we look, the defense looked sillier.
A month or so ago I watched WVU run this several times out of a base formation. Oline does not move and skill positions carry out the play.
My take is that if a defense is relying on stimulus response and reading lineman movement they could be in a quandry. They been instructed that the oline does not move and the ball does. many of you ahve heard "Read your keys- read your keys" "Don't watch the backfield" LBS can be taught to read their guards or the triangle. What do lbs do if the oline does not move. How many d coordinators coach their kids up on a play that starts on the snap but the lineman do not move?
I could just see one of my LBs coming to the sideline and telling his coach "my key did not move" "What do I do?"
When I saw it it was effective. Glad nobody has done this to us.
The example you use about the kid coming to the side line with his question: What do I do? Is the very reason in this day of reading keys we have taught for a very long time to read THRU the guards to the backs. If the guards don't move, your eyes are fixed on the backs and on the snap flow will tell where the ball is! Taught for many years that the guards are the window to their souls and if he pulls here comes the ball to the perimeter, if he drive blocks straight ahead here comes the dive back! But, in this day of FALSE KEYS, you can screw yourself up using that formula exclusively. Good example of what I mean is the conter trey.

We read the triangle guards to backs or tackle/te to back. However, many a system is predicated on reading lineman and the techniques they are attempting to execute especially for teams lucky enough to have two gap defensive line. From what I witnessed the defensive line did not get off the ball and played on a second delay. All i could think was that the stimulus they recieved did not match with a trained response and caused a delay as they searched for an answer.
