Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Stongside vs. a 1 tech. and a 5 tech. we have the T ride the 5 out and the Y come down on the ILB, back should look to bounce it outside the TE's block.
Coach,
Here are the rules for the trap:
Coaching points:
1. We define the area between the guard to guard as a box. We then have our kids look into the box to see how many LBERs are in it. If there are two LBers we call it a "Loaded Box". If only one LBer in the box we call it "skinny". This will dictate our blocking scheme for the trap.
2. If you are running it off of jet action then make sure to have your QB take a six inch reach step to the motion side then reverse pivot. This will give the FB the midline. We do not want our FB weaving. We want him hitting the midline 100 MPH.
PLAYSIDE:
GUARD: CALL "LOADED". Then he will block #1 LBER in the box ( M)
TACKLE: He will block #2 LBER (S)
TE: If a 6 or 7 tech he will outside release and block the $. If 9 tech he will block the $.
B: Fake rocket arc block
BACKSIDE:
C: block on away
G: Trap 1st man past the C outside shoulder
T: Pull Check.
A: Jet motion
C: Stay on the midline do not weave.
Q: 6 inch step to the playside and then fake jet and handoff to the C back hitting the midline.
"Skinny"
Here are the differences:
PSG: Influences pull and block the E out.
PST: uses a skin technique and skins the butt of the 3 tech and blocks the MLB
Hope this helps
