Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I'm heading into my 3rd year coaching defense for 9-11 year olds in pop warner and was reading through some of Coach Mountjoys info when I came across a few terms that I wasn't sure about. I was hoping some of you might be willing to help me out and explain them to me.
What is:
1) An "Arc" step - Ex: "The TE takes an arc step"
2) "Bench Press" the tacke. - Ex: "The DT takes a lateral step and expect to 'Bench Press' the OT"
3) "Reach Block" - Ex: "The DT must not allow himself to be 'Reach Blocked'"
I'll probably be adding more to this as I continue reading.
I guess I was confused by the term "reach" since it seems common sense that the guard would block the 3 tech to the inside if the play was going off tackle. I may be over analyzing as usual.
When I thought "reach" I imagined the O-lineman "reach"ing for a defensive player not in his vicinity.
What about an "Arc" step or "bench pressing" the OT?
I never received your email. I'll send you another so you can respond to it.
