We are installing the Veer this spring from the Spread Gun. 2x2 alignment. What are some good playaction passes off of the veer, midline, and speed option from the gun? Blocking, routes, etc.?
Coach,
Two passes we run from shotgun veer action are smash-Q fakes veer then continues down LOS and reads corner if he sinks he hits the hitch if he comes up on SE we hit the corner route by the slot...Q can also run it since this is a keep pass. The opposite slot who would be the pitch back aggressively attcks the LOS and blocks the first thing that shows outside the tackle, helping to give the Q the edge. The other pass from shotgun veer is pocket wheel (the Q will come off the veer fake take three steps back and throw from the pocket rather than the LOS like he does from keep smash). Our patterns are a curl by the SE, wheel by the slot, and the slot that was in motion continues and runs a flare. The wheel is the homerun ball, but we've hit the curl a bunch. Also consider pocket stalk and go by the slot and SE.
