Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Last year I started a message thread discussing the NFL draft and had a lot of fun reading everyone's responses and opinions on who picked who or who will pick who! I thought I would keep up the trend since we are all fans as well as coaches of the game.
The Raiders are rumored to take JaMarcus Russell from LSU with the first pick. If that happens, I think he will do ok as a Raider but with any offense the Raiders had better get an o-line to protect him, a RB to run, and someone other than Randy Moss to throw to. The Raiders with their young head coach have a lot of holes to fill not only on offense, but defense as well.
Brady Quinn will go to the Browns as the Lions will take another WR(Millen loves his receivers). Calvin Johnson will don a Lions uni.
The Cowboys are predicted to select Ted Ginn, Jr. according to ESPN but I think they will trade down and get some more picks with their first pick being a DB. The Cowboys should pick Calvin Johson but he will be a Lion, more than likely.
There are a few of my opinions. Mel Kiper, Jr. I am not! But let the debating begin!

Lots of suprises, some picks were not but a pretty good draft with the exception of Miami. They had a chance to get Brady Quinn and let him go for a player that is coming off an injury. Of all things needed, they need a QB and Trent Green is not the answer. Some of the ESPN analysts seem to think Dallas would pick him, but why? They have Romo and Quinn would be an expensive backup. The 49ers made an excellent pick with Patrick Willis of Mississippi. The 49ers will be a team to watch with their building through the draft and if they can keep these players together long enough to make a run in a year or two.

One correction in your post if I may: Most coaches I know are not fans. Once your a coach, you look at a game in a totally different perspective than a fan. Some fans are knowledgable, of course, but most are not when it comes to things like angles on a run stopping defense, or a defense stemming from one defense or another, or what choices a receiver has when he runs an option or read route, etc. I once heard Johhny Unitas say just before he died that he was never a fan, or a coach, that he was a player and when his playing days were over he had no interest in the game to speak of. Just thought I would throw this in. No offense intended to your perspective.
Coach Easton-TIGER ONE
J.C. EASTON
HEAD COACH
GA TIGERS FOOTBALL
PROFESSIONAL MINOR LEAGUE
No offense taken, I actually coached a short time at the youth level and a couple of years with 7-on-7. I had gotten into the administrative part of the game as league president and since my resignation from both 7-on-7 and youth football my perspective of watching football is very different. I do consider myself a fan of the game-always will. If I am not actively in it, I am going to still watch it but with the perspective as a coach as I look for different things while watching. For example, I helped with the defense during 7-on-7 and watch the coverages to figure out what they are running and if that was the correct call or how that could be used if I coach again. I am currently a PE teacher's assistant so my chances of getting back into the game will be slim as I am pursuing a full time teaching position as PE teacher so I will still dabble with football, but not near the level I am accustomed to.
Either way, I still enjoy the game from a fan's perspective but thoroughly enjoy listening to what coach's say as well. I guess you could say I try to see it from the best of both worlds. Great quote about Johnny Unitas, by the way. I have an interest in the history of the game as well so I enjoyed reading a quote I had not seen before.
I am interested in your thoughts on the draft Tiger. You offer a great deal of knowledge that I am very appreciative of. Thanks again for your thoughts on this website!
