Coach Hale
What do you think of the BFS program?
We are currently using the same conditoning program that Clovis East uses and my kids love it. However, there is different type of bench pressing every day. Incline next day regular bench next day towel bench and the next day decline bench. Is this too much bench pressing? They basically do the same with the squat (parallel squat/lunge squat/box squat). The power snatch, power clean, hang clean and then jerk press. I needed a switch from BFS. It required to many bench and squat stations to maximize participation and we do not have a facility to accomodate 40 kids. The Clovis east workout allows me to maximize participation for 60 kids with very little sqaut and bench stations. The BFS did raise my kids bench and squat number, however, as I said before there was too much standing around because the groups were to many. This way there is very little rest in between sets because there is only three kids to a group. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.
SIDEBAR:
My superindentent just informed me that I weight room is NOT a priority in this school district and nor will it ever be. SO we are working with a classroom size facilty with equipment that is from 1987. We are currently using the hallway to do our squatting and stiff leg dead lifts. We have 2 benches, 1 incline bench, no rubber plates, dumbells (but the rack is broken and we are missing dumbells sizes, our pull down deck goes from 10 lbs to 30lbs, then 80 lbs to 200lbs. The weights at 40-80 are broken and therfore you have to skip them, no platforms for power lifting, all bar clips are broken and the weights slide off time from time, one hex bar, 2 dumbell benches, hammer jammer that the custodians are just dieng to get rid of, broken leg ext and leg curl machine, broken adductor/abductor machine, broken leg press machine. I have 5 olympic bars because the others are broken. There is not enough room for everything. We have to take out all of the equipment from the classroom and set it up in the hallway and then have to clean it up and store it back into the classroom everytime we work out. I have managed to bring in a leg ext/leg curl machine that works with free weights. I have bought new clips for the bars, I have bought 2 new bars that makeup a part of the five. I did only have 3. I got a used leg press machine donated from a parent. I have managed to fund raise $8000 for new equipment, but I have no place to put the new equipment, because the current DUMP we are working out in is going to used by the PE dept. and I can not put anything into it. I am looking for ideas on how to get my own facility. I was thinking (rather dreaming) of fund raising for a Huge shed or Garage to make into a weight room and putting it on the school premises.
-------I have rallied my parents and we have attended several board meetings about the weight room and I have informed them that we are an accident away from a law suit and we need a new one or updated. Three out of the seven agreed and three disagreed. They have requested the AD to come up with something and he has decided he wants it to be another teaching station for the PE dept. Therefore, he is looking at machines and cardio stations only. He came in with a budget for $75000. I want my own facility, if someone has some ideas I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THEM PLEASE!!!
I know LEAVE NOW. However, I love the kids and it is very good for my family. I know then shut up and deal with it.
Thanks
Karjaw
