I am the DC at a school with small but fast players. Our OC runs a spread attack with a scrambling QB, but....
Unless you are facing a scrambling QB attack him! How many QBs can make his reads fast enough? Who has the O-line to pass block for the spread at the HS level.
Knowing the quick reads are slants and ins I line up the corners on the #1 WRs 4 and 1 (even 5 and 2) to the inside.
Blitz and twist the DE and the OLB sending 5 or even 6. Throw some DE zone drops as well.
Safties bail to the deep sidelines taking away the quick release go route. Mike plays a Tampa 2 on the Post. Corners relate to out to ins and ins to outs, but sitting. The QB shouldn't have time to pump fake out to in or vice versa.

My OC exposes the seams using Z and H. I counter with a Mike A gap blitz with a DT stunt to B. My OLB bail up the seams checking post (simulating a shaky Cover 4). I throw in some man and send Mike (DE check T and scrape back down if needed). We always ditch our outside pressure to pick up T. What is the point of pressure if the QB checks to T?
Against trips we audible adjust. I count on a solid man to man corner who plays 4 to 7 head up. I run a man weak/2 strong. Safties roll strong bringing FREE to the middle of the field and $ to the sideline. Will checks the RB or bails middle post curl checking H (#3). Mike flows strong hook curl and I send Sam (sometimes twist the DE). Or drop the Strong DE (hands up) and send Mike and Sam to the strong side. Again, my weak corner must have wheels as he is on a island.
Last year a spread team predictably tried to hit the backside WR on a slant and the ball hit Will in the chest for a pick six. Backside corner and post routes will work if the QB has time to throw.
Any constructive critique out there?
