This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Hey, when running inside veer from the gun, do you guys have your backside tackle scoop block or does he block the backside end. (I am talking about the tackle away from the veer read)
Our O-line coach teaches our backside tackles to take a cut-off angle for the safety, unless the end crosses his face. If the backside DE is really giving us problems (which almost never happens), then we will block him.
Backside tackle can also us a sift technique to slam through the inside shoulder of the backside 5 technique to seal the outside invert to safety. Coach Campbell
We use the zone block away from the inside veer, it gives us a better block. The guard and the tackle work well together. We use our big people at guard and the quicker smaller people at tackles so that we can zone a little better.
