Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
2 players, as good as any in the state at their position in my opinion, QB/CB and FB/LB.
Both sprained / twisted ankles in last weeks game. Both have made tremendous recoveries this week. Both have passed all incremental tests the past couple days, have done some controlled drills, but taken no reps in team time.
We are undefeated and I think we could go deep in the playoffs, if we make it. We have 2 games left against very good teams. I think we could win without the two before mentioned players, but we are obviously better with them. We have to win one of two to make the playoffs.
My philosophy is to play 9 one game seasons and take it one game / day at a time.
I also have the responsibility to do what is best for the long term. I doubt either player will be at 100%, but would probably be better than their replacements - although again I think we could still win the games without them.
Sitting them for one week would probably ensure that they were healthy for the final week of the season, and any games we might get to play in the playoffs.
Do we let them try it if they seem ok to play or make them sit it out and get better healed for next Friday?

Coach don't play them unless you need to. Get them back at 100% and get ready for the following game if you feel that you can get through this one without them. Possibly by playing them to soon could cause futher problems. Coach Campbell
Thanks for the reply. I guess I agree with you about not playing them if we can win without them.
Will I be able to live with myself if I don't play them and we lose? As much as I hate to think about it, that is a possibility... like I said both of the teams we are playing are very good and we will have to play well to win (6-2 team and 5-2 defending state champs).
These guys are very tough competitive kids. I know they will be very disappointed if they feel like they can play, and I don't let them, and then if we were to lose... is that silly for me to even worry about?

Coach start the other player and use you injured players only if necessary. Remember the long haul of the remaining season and the playoffs, you will need them there with you. Coach CAmpbell PS> Keep up the great job and have always appreciated your participation in our forum.
TOTALLY AGREE WITH COACH CAMPBELL. HAVE THEM IN UNIFORM AND READY TO GIVE IT THEIR BEST SHOT IF IT BECOMES NECESSARY, BUT ONLY IN THAT SCENARIO. HAVE YOUR TRAINERS TAPE THEM TO THE VERY BEST OF THEIR ABILITY ( IF IT WERE ME, I WOULD HAVE THE TEAM DOCTOR DO IT) AND THEN PRAY THAT YOU CAN GET THE GAME IN HAND EARLY AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO PLAY THEM.
JUST A SUGGESTION AS ALWAYS.

Thanks a lot for the input now and always to everybody. This site has really been a big part of my coaching career. I ended up testing them out during the school day and they looked ok and both really wanted to play - even after I encouraged them to play it safe if there was any doubt in mind. We played them on one side of the ball only for most of the game, but did play them both ways at the end of the game. Both were less than 100%, but did not reinjure or make it worse. It was a crazy game that we squeeked out in the end. They played their best game of the year. We made just enough plays to get by.
