Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Over the last 3 years we have had a QB who could go, so we have ran a zone option to try and get him on the force player. He is now gone, and we are going to run speed option. We have ran it sparingly by just letting the tackle decide based on the DE to veer release inside (5 tech) or arc (4 Tech), and pitching off the end.
Our tackles aren't the most mobile so we have had trouble trying to arc with a 5.
How do you block it out of a 2x2 one back set, versus a 4-2 box. running it at the 3 and 5, and at the 1 and 5?

Coach,
When we run speed option we option the 5 and will veer release inside of him when faced with a 5 tech and a 1or 2 tech. We will combo the 3 tech to PSILB. When faced with a 4I, we will combo the 4I to the PSILB, bringing the combo around fast, We will then option the loose 5. The 2 by 2 set should take care of the OLB, by making him take the pitch.
