Before the new football season begins... all parents, players and coaches must be clear in their understanding of our program philosophy and everyone should know what is expected of them to assure a successful season.
The pre-season meeting should be relaxed and casual. Beginning with informative introductions of the coaching staff and what they expect from the players.
Define program philosophy: Building better players and ultimately better young men. Understanding that success starts in the classroom and finishes on the gridiron. Players will learn the importance of respect and how to co-operate with others. Develop an ethic of working hard never taking the easy path. Establishing an environment where everyone is excited to participate everyday to do what's necessary to achieve success as a team. Know that playing time is not guaranteed, but rather earned through hard work at practice. Most importantly, have fun!
Players must be in class everyday and keep grades up. Represent the program well both on and off campus. Do exactly what the coaches ask. Come to practice on time and ready to work and get better every day. Attendance at practice is mandatory.
Parents are expected to support the program in anyway possible. Working concessions at home games. Helping with fundrasiers. Hosting a pre-game meal. Understanding parental guidelines regarding not acceptable behavior and responsible behavior - be involved in a positive way.
When everyone involved in the program works hard and stays focused on the goal of having a successful program...good things will happen.
