Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We plan on installing a no-huddle offense this year. As a staff we are bouncing around different concepts of doing it. What are some of you guys doing that works for you?
You've probably have seen the hand signs and white boards that OU and OSU use. Both those are effective as long as you practice it and really get down the language. I've always liked the wrist bands and have 3 coaches or 2 back up QB's and a coach signal in signs and 2 of them are dead and 1 is live. As a defensive coach, at the time, it is difficult to focus on the signs coming in because of the time and energy that it takes to recognize and breakdown.
I know these aren't in depth, but their solid foundations. I don't have an expansive knowledge of installing a no huddle, but I know the basics.
It doesn't matter how much you know, until they know how much you care.

Coach I sue a three pocket wrist coach. Each pocket will hold 6 colums for me each colum holding up wards to 10 plays this can vary depending upon your offense. Each cloum is given a city name with numbers running down the colum and each number with a play. So the coach from the side line will signal the city and then the number which gives the players the play being run. Wrist codes change each week. Coach campbell
here is what we are thinking about so far. let me know if we are headed in the right direction.
1. all players get a play wristbands
2. give all plays a 3 digit number
3. signal in the play using a whiteboard
4. a coach will wear colored wristbands to use a signals for speed of the tempo (blue=snap ball in 1st 15 sec......gold=snap ball in final 10 sec)
we are in the very early stages of planning.......we still need ideas on calling in the formation....i like coach campbell's idea of using a city as the formation and signal it in
Just make sure that you aren't always running number 236 or whatever. If you have a few plays that you run the majority of the time, make sure you have several different numbers for them so the defense doesn't get an easy key.

If you are worried about your opponent catching unto your calls take your top 5 plays and put this in each catagory so you can call the same play using different cities. Coach Campbell
