Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coach Campbell you have been very helpful in the past, are there any tips or pointers you can give me about this offense? We are going to run it this year at Pearl River High in Louisiana. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated as always.
Coach Campbell & I are going to spend the entire weekend with my players putting all the drills & plays on film to share with all of you coaches. This video series will be a huge help with your installation.
Basically, my goal is to put our QB in shotgun to open up our pass game & put more pressure on the defense....WITHOUT making things more complicated. When we made the transition from gun to under center our main concern was to not change anything with the offensive line.
Also, we made our terminology & formations so easy that we could switch back & forth between gun & under center without confusing the kids.
I have to get to weight training right now...but coach I am excited to discuss this more with you at great lengths.
When do you think we will have an opportunity to see these? Need to put in good field demos and really get specific with you splits for the backs and slot men as well as the split ends. You know a good round number. Some I have seen touch on it with something like "when in the middle of the field we may split".....or "on the hash marks we will split so and so unless we are near our bench", etc. which really doesn't help me the coach trying to implement this offense nor the young boys trying to learn it. Hope to hear something soon.
Coach Stewart, Can't wait to see the finished product. I have some of Coach Campbell's option tapes and he does a great job. I know the final product will be outstanding.
I have never coached wing-t before, let alone gun wing-t so it will be very interesting. I will be trying to keep the o-line rules as close to typical wing-t rules as much as I can.
I have been researching quite a bit of materials, Coach Johnston's, Coach PLaa's and Grinnell College's DVDs. Plus I have quite a bit of info from Tom Herman as well that I just got. I think I am getting the idea, but any and all help will be used and appreciated.

BBDawg indeed will be glad to help you we installed the Gun Wing-T this past season at our High School with the arrival of our new head coach Mike Parsons who has certainly made an impact with it here in Central California. I will be glad to help you a very explosive offense with the running game. Coach Campbell
