Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coaches, I am excited to join Coach Campbell and lead this forum as we are all training hard in anticipation for August. The high school coach has many challenges in front of him in terms of lack of equipment, short bell schedules, and scheduling conflicts with athletes.
Let's discuss solutions to all of these challenges.
I am only a middle school coach, but I have experience with S&C at both the collegiate level and the high school level. I believe that the best way to train a football team, whether it is with a lack of time or not, is with circuits and supersets. This does a number of things, it gets the kids stronger (especially when they're tired, as they will be in a game), increases mental toughness (ability to push through the pain and finish strong), and the ability to get lots of quality work in a smaller amount of time.
Workouts of this nature also provide more time for position specific emphasis during spring ball (with limited contact hours) by allowing guys to get their lifting done, then get their football skills honed. As I said, this is just my opinion and I would also like to hear what others think!
