Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I have been looking at two different ways of running my base veer. I'm focusing mainly on the playside. One I used last season, but I think this other one may be better and I didn't know if anybody had used one, or both of them.We typically see a 5-3 style defense, N-0, T's-3, E-5, M = 0, OLB = 4.
B B B
E T N T E
T G C G T
C = Seal to Playside
G = Base 3
T = Combo 3 to Mike (TE blocks PSOLB)
The other scheme I was looking at was based on the blocking angles.
C = Seal to Playside
G = Combo 3 (Punch and Release) to Mike
T = Down Block 3 & Wash down
Let me know what y'all think. Thanks for the help in advance!

The defense you have illustrated is a double eagled front which will require you to double the three technique (T) to the middle linebacker. Look for your fullback to bring the ball out the frontside or if the three tecnique stretches then he will cut backside. Coach campbell
Thanks Coach, makes lots of sense, one more question. Would it be easier to send the G or T to the Mike because I've found that it makes for a more aggressive blocker and a stronger combo when it is predetermined who is going where. Last season I had the T going to the Mike, but I was thinking that based on the T's down block on the 3 that it would make more sense to send the G to the Mike and let the T wash down the 3 off of the combo. What do you think?

Coach indeed the best case is to combo the 3 technique and track the mike linebacker. Glad to have you on the forun and please ask whenever I can help. Coach campbell
Veer to a double eagle monster is a major pain in the arse. You would want a TE or wing in my opinion, and you have to be able to throw the slant to the weak side to get them out of it. That is the one defense I hate to see when running veer. Best play against it is power to a TE. Simple downblock the PST to 3 tech, TE to Mike and PSG pull to kick DE. Iso the OLB.
