Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We are changing from a 4-4 to a 3-4, but our personnel is really 4 down linemen. The one OLB is really a big, athletic DE-type kid, while the other is a LB-type.
My question is: should I play the big kid over the TE and the LB-type to the SE side OR should I simply play one as a field OLB and the other as a boundary OLB. If I go with field/boundary placement, who should play where?
Frankly, I would think about playing the DE type to the side where I would not have to worry about him covering a TE. Let him play like a DE, and have to worry about playing the run, rush the QB, and spilling the RB. If your personnel is a 4 down personnel, then (in my opinion) use them like it.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
