Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
This was given to me by one of my former players who now is on the GB Packers coaching staff. It has helped us immensely on offense. Really SIMPLIFIED teaching (especially on the High School level)!!!
There are MANY, MANY ways to align 11 men DEFENSIVELY, but they ALL fall into only FIVE categories. Now, instead of trying to adjust blocking to 20 or 30 "looks" - our rules have to hold up vs. these 5 "looks".
NOTE: This is from a BALANCED line (if you use a balanced line - try fitting all the defenses you see into these 5 categories). Those using UB lines will have to work out how this applies to them if interested (I'm sure it can be done):
1. "EVEN" = UNCOVERED CENTER.
2. "OVER" = UNCOVERED GUARD AWAY FROM STRENGTH.
3. "OKIE" = CENTER COVERED & BOTH GUARDS UNCOVERED.
4. "UNDER" = UNCOVERED GUARD TO THE SIDE OF STRENGTH
5. "JAM" = CENTER & BOTH GUARDS ARE COVERED.
Here is an example of HOW this has helped us:
OUR "POWER" OFF-TACKLE (only 3 situations can occur):
A) Vs. EVEN & OVER = ON G & ON T DOUBLE TEAM.
B) Vs. OKIE & UNDER = ON T & TE DOUBLE TEAM
C) Vs. JAM = playside down (gap) blocks.
