the game here is run on amateur lines, with players paying for the priviledge to play. We have a version of AFCA, the British American Football Coaches Association, and they are beginning to bring coaches over to speak. Texas Tech's Mike Leach is here this weekend.

The greatest impact US coaches could have, in my opinion, is to invite UK coaches to attend spring practice periods, or internships during your season. You can read as many books as you like, but nothing beats actual experience of coaching within a programme. I have been fortunate enough to coach HS ball in AL, and I am looking for a coaching post in the US as we speak. Another way to help would be to give UK coaches a foot in the door!

Obviously, boards like this are very useful, as some coaches make their resources and schemes available to others. The more knowledge injected into the UK game, the better it will become. I would love to help set up some form of formal link between coaches in the US and coaches here, and not only foster football knowledge but goodwill and exchanges.
