Baker Parent participation plays a significant role when their child-athlete participates in extracurricular activities. Thus, conducting a pre-season meeting is essential to keep all on board and to keep the school spirit and athletic program alive.
So, as a newly employed head football coach, the coach should set a pleasant tone at the start of the pre-season parent meeting by introducing himself to the group, by acknowledge his team manager and other staff members. The coach should also welcome the players and their family members to the meeting as well as give a special thanks to those who have signed up to volunteer their valuable time to help the athletic program run more effectively and efficiently.
The coach should keep the meeting brief yet at the same time; the coach will communicate and share his goals, expectations, policies and certain procedures for the athletes, team manager, position coaches, parents and volunteers during the season. These expectations and goals should be sent via email and backed up by a hard copy calendar that will be issued to those who are attending the meeting and will entail a tentative schedule of important dates, times, events, competitions and other activities as well as a schedule of days of rest and break periods during the season.

I will ensure each parent has submitted an emergency contact form in case of an emergency.
7. Q&A
I will give parents time to ask any concerning questions they may have that I have not already answered
